PLEASE!
I've gotten so tired of watching the news and seeing a news report about yet another "hate crime". A mass shotting in Buffalo, NY. Another one in a church in Orange County, CA. Random subway attacks in NY. The list goes on and on and on. And in all of those reports I keep hearing the phrase "Hate Crime".
BITCH PLEASE!
They're ALL hate crimes. Nobody mugs you because they LOVE YOU. Nobody shoots you because they love you. Nobody beats the living crap out of you because they love you. It's ALL hate.
Hate of Asians
Hate of Blacks
Hate of LGBTQ
Hate of Trump followers
Hate of Democrats or Republicans
Hate. Hate. HATE!
And don't come to me stating "Crimes of Passion". Those are fueled by hate as well. I don't want to sound like Yoda, but, crimes of passion are caused by fear of losing a partner. Fear leads to jealousy. Jealousy leads to hate and hate leads to the dark side.
All crimes, no matter how small they might seem are fueled by hate. Hate of being broke. Hate of being sober. Hate of any number of random things that hit a person during the course of the day.
Kids with guns in school, shooting up whole classrooms of students. They're fueled by hatred. Hatred of being bullied, of being singled out for being different. The difference doesn't matter. They get isolated, made fun of, bullied, until they can't take it anymore and finally get hold of a gun,a rifle or a whole mess of guns. Then they go and take out their anger on those who bullied them. Strangely enough, the hate here started from outside. It just got absorbed and then exploded out with multiplied force.
Guys shooting up churches, supermarkets, offices etc. It's the same thing. They feel slighted at work, they get fed up with bad service or unfair treatment. They lash out with more hate.
Then there's the people who will walk up to a random person on the street or subway and sucker punch them, stab them or shove them into traffic or onto the subway tracks. Those people have just been abused by so many sources that they have loads of hate towards EVERYONE, and one random moment they just lash out.
Which leads me to the phrase "Mental Illness". Same as above. Nobody in their right mind would go out and try to kill someone else. There's obviously something wrong with them. They too are victims of abuse, bullying and worse: neglect.
The solutions for all of these cases is the same. If the people close to them had just paid attention to them and seen the signs, all these tragedies could have been avoided. Those so-called mental illness cases could have gotten the help they needed to deal with their problems. Not with violence but with support and kindness. But more and more people prefer to sweep the problems of others under the rug. Let someone else deal with the problem. We can't be bothered. We as a society have become desensitized to the needs of others. Neglect and more abuse. The worst part is they act so surprised when their family members lash out with violence. "Oh, well, they had a mental illness". FACE IT! The mental illness is NEGLECT.
The Feds are just as neglectful. They see the signs on social media (Don't act surprised. You KNOW we're all being monitored by Big Brother). They see the threats, be they foreign or domestic, and do NOTHING until it's too late. I still haven't figured out why. I guess they can't be bothered to do crime prevention. Like the families of the gunmen, slashers, attackers etc., they just don't want to deal with fixing the problem.
And don't get me started on gun laws.
But stop calling them Hate Crimes. They're crimes. Plain and simple.
